Why a wilderness camp?
Wilderness. The wilderness environment provides a safe and supportive place for students to experience challenges and to discover a new-found ability to cope with life and its complexities from a new perspective. The new experiences challenge the student’s negative belief system and begin the development for a framework founded on personal success and perseverance in the face of obstacles. The end result offers much more than new coping material. It produces a significant and life changing impact on how these children will process life’s obstacles and how they will gain the resiliency to succeed in the face of personal adversity.

Day. Support structures are crucial,as none of us are in this life alone. The support and convenience of a school-day structure allows us to integrate the family into the program. Integrating the family provides ample opportunity to support the home to provide mutually beneficial counseling and directives to the family unit as a whole and to create stabilizing, supporting anchors with which the child is most familiar.

Camp. Survival school is an integral part of the adolescent’s program. From primitive cooking, orientating, wilderness first aid, etc. - the children gain the freedom and independence of knowing they have what it takes to survive. If they can survive in the wilderness - they can thrive in life!
